Mirjam is a medical student at University of Maribor, Faculty of Medicine. Her interests lie in molecular and cellular processes involved in cancer. She aspires to bridge the bench to the bedside. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Sacred Heart University in CT, USA. While completing her bachelor’s degree she participated in an undergraduate summer cancer research program at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where she investigated the role of DNA repair mechanisms in treating cancer. She is curious and a continuous learner. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, writing, singing, playing guitar and ukulele.
