Marko is an assistant professor in the field of pharmacology and toxicology and teaches several courses at the Faculty of Medicine. He also works as a postdoctoral researcher at the institute, with most of his research efforts focused on the development of a microphysiological platform and 3D printed biomimetic carriers for in vitro modeling of the endocrine pancreas.

After completing his master’s degree at the Faculty of Pharmacy and postgraduate studies in the field of biomedical technology, his knowledge is at the intersection of (patho)physiology, additive manufacturing, advanced materials and tissue engineering. When he is not engaged in the usual research matters in the laboratory or writing articles, he enjoys debating current, pressing issues with his colleagues and making sure that the whole group has a good laugh.
